Eligibility
Baby Gator centers serve children who have at least one parent or guardian associated with the University of Florida, PK Yonge Developmental School or Shands. Undergraduate student parents must be full-time (12 or more credit hours). A child may be placed on the waiting list at conception.
Eligibility for Lake Alice
Baby Gator at Lake Alice serves children who have at least one parent or guardian associated with any college or department of the University of Florida. Eligible parents are full-time (12 or more credit hours) undergraduates, graduate students, post-docs, staff or faculty. College of Medicine faculty, students, interns, residents, post-docs and fellows are not eligible to enroll in this center; College of Medicine staff are eligible to enroll in this center. Eligibility for Newell Drive
Baby Gator at Newell Drive was established as a partnership with the Colleges of Medicine and Public Health and Health Professions. Eligible parents are undergraduate and graduate students, interns, residents, post-docs, fellows, and faculty of these colleges. Staff in these colleges are not eligible to enroll their children at Newell Drive but are eligible to enroll their children in Baby Gator center at Lake Alice and PK Yonge.

Eligibility for PK Yonge
Baby Gator at PK Yonge is a partnership with PK Yonge Developmental Research School at UF. Eligible parents are full-time (12 or more credit hours) undergraduates, graduate students, post-docs, staff or faculty in any UF department or college, full-time faculty and staff at PK Yonge, Shands employees and parents of children whose siblings are currently enrolled as PK Yonge students and children from the Gainesville community whose parents are not associated with UF, Shands or PK Yonge. NOTE: This center enrolls only children ages 3-5 yrs.

Enrollment Procedure
- Baby Gator has a rolling enrollment process. Spaces are filled as they become available during the year.
- Children are offered placements based on their status on the waiting list. Siblings and children with diagnosed developmental delays are given priority
- As soon as a space becomes available, parents are notified byphone and/or e-mail.
- Parents are emailed an Enrollment Packet from the office of the Baby Gator Admissions/Registration Coordinator.
- Parents meet with the Baby Gator Admissions/Registration Coordinator to review completed Enrollment Packet.
- Parents attend a classroom orientation
- NOTE; All paperwork, including medical and immunization forms, must be delivered to the Baby Gator office at least 2 business days before the child’s start date
